Congratulations to our Fine Arts Summer Intensive participants!

The Fine Arts Summer Intensive is led by experienced teaching artists and distinguished guest presenters. It gives highly motivated children, and youth, opportunities to learn both experimental and traditional fine arts skills, showcased in a public exhibition.

This year we focused on charcoal drawing, oil painting, and acrylic painting. We were inspired by a collaborative improvisation session led by William Hall and Carla Hatley. We visited the SFMOMA and saw Creative Growth: The House that Art Built, Kara Walker’s Fortuna and the Immortality Garden, Zanele Muholi: Eye Me, and Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirror Room.

Congratulations to all our participants, interns, and volunteers! Come and see everyone’s artwork on display in ArtSeed’s 18th Annual Exhibition before the show closes on September 25th.

Thank you to our CLA interns, Gloria and Linh, for making our summer programs a success!

Gloria L.

From what I’ve learned through CLA and ArtSeed, I feel more ready to get further involved in the arts & media industry specifically through networking and communicating professionally. I also found it useful to learn how to manage a standard work day and keep tidy records.

Linh H.

Thanks to ArtSeed, Josefa, and all of our associates, I feel like I’ve gained more insight in the significance of art and gained a much more meaningful appreciation for it. This experience made me realize how many career paths there are in the Arts, and helped open up some possibilities that I hadn’t considered before.
