Unleash Your Creativity! Ever try an old type writer? printing press? treadle sewing machine? wood turning lathe? braided rug? oil paints? Enjoy food, drink, live music, prizes and exhibition opportunities as you benefit kids! ArtSeed grows classical and cutting-edge art projects by connecting gifted and vulnerable communities. Artists of all ages and levels of experience are invited to participate in this annual 10-hour art-and-music-making marathon. Sign up now and start to collect sponsors! ArtSeed Fine Arts Summer Intensive, Week One: July 7 -11, 2014, (weekdays 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.) is for highly motivated youth. Week Two: July 14 – 18, (weekdays 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.) for highly motivated children and youth mentors. Students will have a chance to immerse themselves with distinguished artists in experimental and traditional fine arts skills like drawing, painting, printmaking, film and collage. A high adult-to-youth ratio, the workshops include field trips to museums, galleries, parks, and artist studios. Individual portfolios are developed to take home and selected student works will be exhibited at the Thoreau Center for Sustainability alongside collaborative works and examples of art from a wide range of mentoring and presenting artists June 26 — July 26, 2014. Ages for the camps will be 10-18 yrs, though consideration will be given to younger participants in view of their maturity after an interview. ArtSeed Apprenticeship Program, Design and create a project (at least 4 hours a month) with one youngster (or a small group) over the course of a year and be the featured Mentoring Artist in next year’s exhibition! Utilize supplies and the studio at Leola Havard School or teach from your own studio.
