Event Info:

How does the ArtSeed Art-a-thon fundraiser work?
On April 16th, participants are challenged to create for as long as they can. In order to raise
funds to support ArtSeed’s education programs, participants register with ArtSeed and collect
pledges of sponsorship from friends and family for each hour they spend making art.
If you want to sponsor yourself that is fine too! No amount is too small to participate!
New this year: We are asking local businesses and individuals to sponsor registered participants
(especially youth participants) as well – that’s more incentive to stay the whole 10 hours!

What can I expect on event day?
Participants may come at anytime and stay for any duration between 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on
April 16th. There will be plenty of work space indoors (and outdoors if the weather permits).
Art-a-thoners can bring their own projects to work on or take advantage of the various
stations with guidance and art supplies. Throughout the day there will be live music,
refreshments and guest artists. Friends and spectators are welcome!

The event will culminate in the last hour at 7pm with a festive exhibition of art work made that day,
and prizes awarded. Prize Categories will include: Audience Choice for Adults and for Youth.
There will also be raffle prizes. For every $5 donated collected in pledges will get you one
raffle ticket for a variety of prizes.

What supplies and stations will be available?
There will be basic supplies for painting, drawing, and collage, plus assorted paper in stacks of ten,
sizes 5 x 7 and 8 x 10. Special stations will include a henna tattooo station, stenciled T-shirt making
station (bring your own plain t-shirt or use ones provided as long as supplies last), faerie making
station lead by ArtSeed’s very own youth board members. Many participants will come with a plan
and their own supplies (silk screen, wood carving, printmaking for example) feel free to make friends
and collaborate or learn a new technique!

rubbing shoulders with fellow artists or supporting an amazing grassroots non-profit.

For participants:

Registration Fee: A $15 suggested donation is asked from registrants with the ability to pay.
This will get you access to the entire day of art making, art supplies, refreshments, pizza lunch, raffle and prizes.

This can be done through setting up a free and easy personal fundraising web page to send to
friends and family. Register and create your fundraising page here. You can also collect pledges
with an old-fashioned pledge sheet noting pledge per hour amount and contact info
to be filled out and submitted on event day.

During the event, the participant’s time will be clocked and ArtSeed will then redeem the pledges for
the appropriate amount by sending your sponsors a description of your success.
