Sam Kuang, IT Intern, Shipyard Studio Artist in Resident
Sam Kuang has lived in San Francisco all his life. He is an upcoming senior at Abraham Lincoln high school, a digital media design academy student, and the president of the Japanese culture club. In his free time, he takes classes at the city college of San Francisco, San Francisco State University, and the Academy of Art University. The mediums that he uses most often include colored pencils, markers, and paints. His favorite subject to draw his portraits. In 2019, he got runner-up in the Japan town mascot design contest. In 2020, he got 2nd place in the PTSA “Look within” reflection contest, 2nd place in the SFCAHT “People are not for sale” contest, and 3rd place in the “What does Healthy food mean to you?” contest.
