Jello, Walled

“Jell-O, walled”

An Installation by Marissa Kunz
At ArtSeed’s Spring Open Studio
May 2-3 2009 11am – 6pm
Building 101, Studio 2513
Hunter’s Point Shipyard, San Francisco

Artist statement:

“Jello, walled” was conceived in conjunction with ArtSeed’s Exhibition theme: “Structure and the Meaning of Life”. The image of cherry red Jell-O nailed precariously to a wall took hold in my mind during the presidential debates of 2008, when John McCain compared understanding Obama’s tax plans to nailing Jell-O to a wall. This installation attempts to realize such an elusive endeavor, if only for a moment.
